Josie specialises in bespoke jewellery, from one-of-a-kind engagement and wedding rings, to remodelling your unworn heirloom treasures and everything in between. With Josie’s unique set of skills and guidance, you will be a part of this collaborative and creative experience to design a unique and sentimental treasure you will cherish for a lifetime.

Heirloom re-modelling…
We all have sentimental jewellery that has been handed down from our loved ones, once cherished by the wearer, full of history and memories. worn to weddings and funerals, birthdays and holidays- these treasures hold so much meaning but they are often not to our taste and end up gathering dust. Re-purposing the sentimental materials and forming them into a new, timeless modern heirloom that can continue to be passed down to future generations is such a wonderful idea and is something that Josie specialises in. Below is an outline of the process from start to finish…

Join Josie in her private Frome studio for a relaxed conversation about design ideas and budget. Bring any jewellery along that you wish to re-model and Josie will check the quality of the jewellery to ensure they are suitable and can be used.

Within a week of our consultation you will receive an email with a sketch of the design alongside a quote. If you decide to proceed, you will be asked to pay either a 50% deposit to secure the piece, or the full amount to speed up the process. Josie will only start the piece once the full payment has been made.

Carefully and thoughtfully Josie will remove any gemstones and get to work on handcrafting your re-imagined jewel using an eclectic range of metalsmithing techniques to create a one-of-a-kind and entirely bespoke creation.

Once the piece has been finished you will be invited to back to the studio to collect and try-on your jewel, ensuring you are happy with the size and fit before you take it home. Covered postage is also available if you are unable to collect your jewellery in person. Josie will always do her best to ensure the process is smooth and relaxed from start to finish to ensure you have an enjoyable and tailored experience.
Engagement and wedding rings…

This option is made for the alternative bride that has a love for unconventional beauty and celebrating imperfections. The thoughtfulness of bespoke speaks a thousand words and allows you to create an entirely one-of-a-kind ring that is full of sentiment and meaning, capturing your love story and transforming into a physical daily reminder of your love.

You’ll leave the consultation feeling well-informed, inspired and ready to take the next steps towards creating your bespoke engagement ring.

During the consultation you will have the chance to discuss stone options that would best suit the wearer. Sourced stones come from trusted suppliers that Josie has long standing relationships with, ensuring high quality and sustainable origins.

Frequently Asked Questions

We are confident that you will love and cherish your sentimental bespoke jewellery, but if you are not 100% happy with the finished piece Josie will do all that she can to make any necessary changes to ensure you are satisfied with your jewellery. Bespoke and custom jewellery is exempt from the refund and exchange policy unless structurally faulty which is why Josie works closely with her customers throughout the process to ensure a clear design and customer satisfaction.

The average time frame for bespoke jewellery is currently 8-10 weeks from initial consultation to finished piece. This can vary if sourcing rare or unique gem stones.

All bespoke jewellery will be shipped at an additional charge using Royal mail, Special Delivery and fully covered. Josie Mitchell jewellery will not be held accountable for damages, theft or missing parcels and will not offer refunds once the jewellery is no longer in our care.

During your initial consultation Josie will explain the options for payment and how this will affect the time-frame.
Full payment: If you choose to complete your payment in full, you will receive an invoice with details for a BACS transfer.
50% Deposit: If you choose to pay a 50% deposit, you will receive an initial invoice with details for a BACS transfer of 50%. Please be aware that work will not start on your bespoke piece until the full payment has been received.
