Hi, I'm Josie
I started my business back in 2018 in Bournemouth. Before moving to my hometwon, Frome and opening a Jewellery Shop and Workshop space at The Iron Gates. Working with my hands to create timeless treasures on a daily basis is such a blessing and I feel so fortunate to call this my job.
I have a love for unique, and timeless jewellery that bridges the gap between sustainability and affordable luxury. I strongly believe that our jewellery reflects WHO we are in a way that words cannot describe.
Jewellery is a window into our lives and has the power to transform the way we feel, which is why I believe it is so important to invest in jewellery that tells your story aswell as making you feel amazing. I can see the power our jewellery can have towards our mental health and the anxieties of everyday life. My jewellery is inspired by the ocean and organic textures reflected from the nature that surrounds us, helping to connect us to a deeper sence of wholeness.
I have been slowly building up my Josie Mitchell Jewellery collection, and everything I own of hers feels special every time I wear it. Everything is so comfortable to wear, such high quality and beautifully made. The designs are unlike anything else I own, and I’m so excited to see her new collection! I’ll definitely be wanting it all!
Our Craftsmanship
Through an eclectic mix of ancient and innovative techniques, creating signature style that will stand the test of time and celebrates our gorgeous planet through unique and perfectly imperfect textures.
The unique and one-of-a-kind stones all come from small businesses and family run mines. Supporting the small community is so important and integral to fighting against the growing ethical issues and sustainability problems we are facing- especially in the jewellery industry. Always choosing to support small businesses over larger corporations as they are paving the way to a more sustainable future for our planet.
Our jewellery is mindfully designed to be tactile and grounding, helping to soothe anxiety and stress through organic textures that reflect our natural environment and bringing us closer to nature.
The Epiphany Collection was designed during the pandemic as a way to bring us back to a place of comfort and calm.
I strongly believe that jewellery should be built to last and treasured for a lifetime. For this reason I choose not to gold plate any of my work due to the short lived benefits and unsustainable implications.
Our Promise to Sustainability
At Josie Mitchell jewellery, we try our best to use recycled silver and gold wherever possible to take the pressures off mining for raw materials. Most stones are purchased from small businesses that support family run mines and conflic free environments. As a small business with limied resources, we are mindful to make choices toward the most susatainable options that align with our ethos.
